Originally formed as Armada in 1988, the band quickly made its mark on the Columbus, Ohio rock scene, headlining at the legendary Alrosa Villa on a regular basis. Known for their high-energy performances and loyal following, Armada played at some of the most iconic venues in the region, including Newport Music Hall, Whiskey Dick’s, Park Avenue, Shorty’s, Victory’s, Park Street Live, Fenders, Gahanna Pub, Keystone Pub, Coaches, Rainbow’s, and the Akron Agora. Their reach extended beyond Columbus, bringing their electrifying rock sound to audiences throughout Ohio and Kentucky.

In 1995, Armada evolved into Stare North, ushering in a new era that lasted for fifteen years. As Stare North, the band became a driving force in the Midwest rock circuit, dominating stages with high-energy performances and earning a reputation for delivering electrifying, unforgettable shows. Their relentless dedication to their craft and dynamic stage presence cemented their status as one of the region’s most enduring and respected rock bands.

In 2010, the band regrouped and reclaimed their original name, Armada, returning with a renewed sound and an even greater intensity. They continued to command stages at major venues, including Alrosa Villa, Waterfront on Buckeye Lake, King Avenue 5, Turtle Creek Tavern, O'Shecky's, and Roops Brothers. Their setlist features a dynamic mix of original music and fan-favorite covers, blending powerful melodies with hard-hitting energy to create an unforgettable concert experience.

Over the years, Armada has shared the stage with rock legends, opening for Dream Theater, Tesla, Tyketto, and members of Ratt, Warrant, and White Lion. Armada has also left its mark with two studio releases: Don't Give Up The Ship (Armada) and Discourse (Stare North). Both albums are available on Spotify, iHeartRadio, and Apple Music, showcasing the band’s signature sound that has captivated audiences for over three decades.

Today, Armada is led by three founding members: Dave Manring (Guitar), Ted Spradling (Bass), and Wal Ozello (Vocals). Joining them is Jeff Brown (Drums), who brings fresh energy and tight rhythms that drive their music forward.

With over 35 years of rock and roll history, Armada continues to electrify audiences with high-energy performances that bridge generations.
